once upon a time, the city of harmony would have been considered the most peaceful in all of philadelphia. however, once upon a time always fades to oblivion.
relying off the coal mines to power the source of the city and boost the town's economy, harmony provides home to hanniger mine. however, the mine isn't just known for its source of income, but the tragedies that occurred there over the past eleven years. the truth is discouraging, so you best beware.
tom hanniger, at only eighteen, had decided to get in on his father's business. having no previous working experience, he felt he didn't need any being that he had lived in harmony and around the business for his entire life. however, he would prove to be wrong. with his own stupidity, tom caused a vast majority of mine number five to collapse. the accident had left five men dead and one man, harry warden, in a coma.
after seven months of regretting his decisions, tom had decided to reenter tunnel number five as sarah mercer, his girlfriend, had decided to join her friends in a party at the mine. things seemed awkward enough as it was, but imagine his terror when people realized that all was wrong. sarah, axel, and irene were the ones to escape with their lives. as sarah struggled to escape a pickax to the head, tom suffered from a blow, sentenced to die at the hands of the man he had put in a coma. six teens were brutally murdered in the tunnel that night - the masked miner believed to be harry warden.
tom hanniger, did not in fact die that night, but with his absence from harmony for ten years, most people had suspected he had jumped off the face of the earth. a week after his father's death and burial, he returned to harmony in order to sell off the mine that would most likely put most of harmony's miners out of business and provide for a loss of economic value in the minuscule town.
it was upon tom's return in which things started to go wrong. he had reversed his decision to sell off the mine after reuniting with sarah mercer, now sarah palmer. the talk of the town was that harry warden had returned to attack the town once more. axel palmer's father, the ex chief, revealed to him that they had personally put warden to rest and that it must have been a copy cat.
it had taken more than a dozen brutal murders before sarah, axel, and tom had all landed in mine number five together; the birthplace of it all. in a desperate battle to choose between her husband and previous love of her life, sarah is torn as to who she should shoot. axel admits he looked through tom's files and noted he had been in a mental institution for the past five years. through their arguement, tom screams that he sees harry warden when in reality, there is no one there.
relief finally spread over the town as everyone learned that tom hanniger had not only been shot, but buried under rock after a nitrogen explosion. the body was found but being that his face was brutally bloodied up and torn apart, tom's face was unrecognizable. no one had ever suspected that perhaps it hadn't been tom's body.
a year later, people have been reporting sitings of the twenty nine year old, tom hanniger, lurking around in places he shouldn't be. it's all speculated hype but people have been disappearing. this time, he has taken a new approach: random bloody body parts appearing. is he alive? or is it harry warden again?
